NordenBladet — Israel is the perfect destination to have a diverse and interesting holiday. There is plenty to do, but one of the best ideas in summer time is to visit a pool or a water park to cool yourself off. Here are my suggestions for the one’s who love the luxury, for families with kids and for serious sport lovers.

Gordon Pool is a XXL-size open-air swimming pool located on the boardwalk right by the Tel Aviv marina (between Gordon and Hilton Beach)! Gordon swimming pool enables visitors to enjoy the spectacular sunset views of Tel Aviv, and the rich colors of the sky. Pool complex blends naturally with the sequence of the promenade, and invites swimmers to enjoy the city’s rich culture, fascinating local audience, and the turbulent city life. Those who want to enjoy a steaming cup of coffee, a cool drink or a snack, can sit in the cafe and enjoy a beautiful view over the beach, marina and promenade.

If you like to do some serious swimming, this is the perfect place. Dating back to 1956, this legendary pool underwent thorough renovations a few years ago and the facility now includes pools for children and toddlers as well as a modern wooden deck with sun beds, chairs and large parasols for when you want to rest a little or soak up the sun.

FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS:
Shefayim Water Park
(30-40min by car/taxy from Tel Aviv Beach)
Shefayim, 60990, Iisrael. Every day from 9:00-17:00 (till 18:00 Sun-Thu during August) Kibbutz Shefayim NIS 111, NIS 85 each for groups of three and over. 09-9595756. Homepage: http://www.waterpark.co.il

Since it first opened its gates in 1984, the Shefayim Water Park park has established itself as one of the strongest tourist brands. Shefayim Water Park hosts a whole range of fun water-related activities for the whole family! It is the largest water park in Israel, covers a site of over 24 acres and is comprised of three complexes including the water park complex, the motor park complex, and the adventure and paintball complex. The site also includes restaurants and fast food venues, sales booths, and special areas for selected productions. Shefayim Water Park’s uniqueness is its extensive variety of exciting recreational attractions combined with an easily accessible location.

Swimming pools are almost always refreshing but when you add 22 water slides, two tubing routes and a splendid wave pool, things get even more exciting.  It can get pretty busy during summer months but it’s definitely worth a trip if you like your watery fun with a twist – and a few turns along the way. Kids will absolutely love the Caribbean World section with its wading pools, sprinklers, a giant water faucet, mini slides and fantastic 140 water fountains.

The park operates between the months of May and October (from Shavuot until Simchat Torah). During this period, the park attracts visitors from summer camps, schools, community centers, public bodies and corporations as well as individual families.

Enjoy!
xoxo
