OHMYGOSSIP — Dear Ohmygossip readers! I have another great travel experience to share with you! As most of you know, last year I started collaborating with Israel Ministry of Tourism & Israel Government Tourist Office Nordics. As their media ambassador I had a great chance to visit Israel with my husband Margus, meet many interesting people and visit many nice places.
Tel Aviv is incredibly diverse and culturally fascinating city, soon after visiting it you’ll find yourself in love with its culinary culture, which combines a great number of influences from Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. There are so many great places to eat, to be honest, it is not possible to make a list of the best restaurants as there are seriously many of them and all are great in their own way! This is what I love in Israel, especially in Tel Aviv — for every day you have sth new to experience, for every mood you have sth! Just go out and enjoy! But today I wish to introduce you Dr Shakshuka‘s Restaurant in Tel Aviv! If you are a first time in Tel Aviv and you wish to experience the best traditional Israeli kosher tastes without spending over your budget, this is the place to go!

Just to the side of the famous flea market in Jaffa district of Tel Aviv, “Dr Shakshuka” is a kosher meat restaurant with many delicious traditional dishes including couscous, hraime fish, and kosher merguez sausage. For those who maybe do not know — Shakshuka is a traditional Israeli dish of poached eggs and spicy tomato sauce with various Mediterranean vegetables mixed in. Most Israelis eat this dish from a young age at home for breakfast, lunch or dinner; here, guests can congregate around the long tables and eat their shakshuka directly out of a hissing pan, accompanied by salads, sauces, potatoes and pita. Once you have tried it, you wonder why you haven’t eaten it before and you’ll even find that you crave it, even after you leave Israel!

Our meal voucher was for 336 Israeli Shekels (78EUR for two persons) and includes Israeli wine and soft drinks — our table was so full of food that I was almost ashamed :D. As soon as we enter to cosy Dr Shakshukas’s Restaurant garden, we were directed to the table. Before we could sit down the table started to ‘fill itself’ with the best freshly made food. Seriously, like in Harry Potter’s Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! The service was so good — it is every visitors desire — to be treated as a king or a queen! On Dr Shakshuka’s you will get this attention! And I don’t mention the food again, it is just delicious!
This is the place I definately visit again and this is the place I suggest for you without a doubt!
Thank you! ♥
