NordenBladet – Soon, on April 22, 2024 it will be a year since our wedding with Allan, so it’s high time to finish my wedding blog 🙂 My first year as a wedded wife has been amazing, it is so nice to say “my husband” and it is so nice to wear the wedding ring (although I have lost so much weight meanwhile that the ring is one size larger now). And of course the most wonderful thing is that our love keeps growing! Real love is a great BLESSING!!!! A+H=❤️

But I will continue now where the previous blog (see here -> Helena-Reet: Wedding VOL 1 – the rings, invitation cards drawn by kids and wedding dress made by myself ❤️ ) was discontinued.

The preparations were the following: I sewed (or rather pimped up) my wedding dress, also I pimped up dresses for both my daughters, did a tour in the beauty salon (manicure, pedicure, brows and lashes, depilation), dyed my hair and purchased several plants to put on the table. From “Pihlakas” I ordered a few snacks (ham rolls, small meat jellies, filled egg, cheese balls, eclairs, small cakes) but most of the menu I prepared myself (2 large pizzas, lasagne, potato salad and snacks, fruit plate and of course I made a splendid whipped cream cookie cake that I covered with plenty of berries, almonds and chocolate).

I try on the dress

We set the table and the shade in our garden with Allan before going to the wedding. Of course we were hoping it wouldn’t rain (since we did not have a plan B) but … our mood wouldn’t have been ruined by a storm nor a hurricane that day. I prepared all the dishes the previous day, except for the pizzas and the lasagne, which I prepared in the morning of the 22nd before going to our registration. I precooked them so that after the registration it was only a matter of 15 minutes to heat them in the oven. Easy!

The registration was at noon, It took me no longer than 15 minutes to get ready before going. I took a shower and put on the lacy-vintage-retro comfy dress. I don’t wear make-up, so that part was quick, a light moisturizing facial cream and that’s it. Also the hair-do took one minute (I basically did a messy bun and covered it with a hairpiece – one can do that with eyes closed and need not suffer in a hair salon for hours). I put a beautiful hair clip in my hair, put on my golden necklace with diamonds and the result was a 5+.

(the blog continues between wedding pictures)

The registration in the Civil Status Office was peaceful and beautiful – a nice small group of people, a very friendly officer, beautiful live piano music and the closest people, just as I wished! From that moment on I started going by my husband’s last name – Aari! An amazing feeling!

Then the entire group of people drove back to our place in Saku. While I messed with the dishes, Allan poured champagne to the guests. The weather was wonderful and the entire day was amazing in every aspect. It is so pleasant at home and the things at home are so pleasant! So nice, calm, private, simple. The party lasted until 11pm and then me and Allan started packing, since the next day we took off to our honeymoon journey. But that’s already to be written in the next part of the wedding blog.
