The Crown Princess fo Sweden speaks with Hédi Fried and Stina Wirsén

NordenBladet – On Thursday 14 February, The Crown Princess received writer Hédi Fried and illustrator Stina Wirsén at Haga Palace.

During their meeting, they spoke about The Story of Bodri, a book that Hédi Fried and Stina Wirsén created together. The book is about a friendship that survives the Holocaust.

Hédi Fried was born in Romania in 1924, and came to Sweden with the Red Cross in 1945 having survived the Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps. She subsequently became a writer and a psychologist. On 13 February, she was awarded the Seraphim Medal by The King for her efforts in the fight for democracy and human values.

Stina Wirsén was born in 1968 in Stockholm. She is an illustrator and writer of children’s books.
