TWO-WEEK road trip with children to Finland – the planning of the trip, the route, and travel blog with photos

NordenBladet – Travelling in the Nordic countries is safe and within a short time you are able to visit several sightseeings. The Nordic people themselves prefer to travel more and more in the home country and other Nordic countries since the native culture, the beautiful nature, the high quality services and modern opportunities outmatch any distant journey.

NordenBladet journalists bring the best travel blogs and the most interesting events throughout Scandinavia as well as more broadly the Nordic countries to the Nordic reader in four languages (English, Finnish, Swedish, Estonian). Our travel rubrics are read by more than 750 000 readers monthly. So what is it that makes the Northern countries so mystical and interesting? The answer is simple – the many centuries of local culture and intact nature! The affection towards your cultural heritage and the desire to preserve it for your children is ingrained deep inside every long time Nordic inhabitant. The weather is less and less the object of whining since there are plenty of exciting things to do around the year in the Nordic countries.

In this blog I give a glimpse and an overview about the two-week holiday travel in Finland. A similar travel would be easy to plan for Estonian, Swedish, Norwegian as well as Finnish citizens themselves, because the departure need not be just Helsinki but also elswhere. The Nordic countries enjoy well built roads and crossing the borders inside Scandinavia is convenient when you are local.

Why choose travelling by car?
When travelling with children there will always be a lot of luggage and since the car carries the luggage you have less worries. Travelling by car you will be able to plan the time and make stops whenever you feel like. I also like that you will be able to see places that the typical tourist won’t visit. The brightest and most memorable recollections are from completely random places where as a member of a group of tourists you would never end up. HERE I have brought out eight reasons why it is great to travel by car in the Nordic countries.

How to plan a road trip?
The planning of a road trip is by large like the planning of any other travel. Settle the destinations that you wish to visit. Find out more about those places – what are the sightseeings, where they are located, what do they cost, where you can dine and where you can find accommodation. It is reasonable to write down the most important information, this makes it easy to grasp everything while on the road. One thing I have repeatedly realized is that though it might seem comfortable just in case to take along as many things as possible, it is still wiser to make a list and bring with you only the inevitable – the less the easier! It is also reasonable to pack the suitcases so that when going to the hotel in the evening you needn’t bring with you the entire luggage every time – sort all the clothes and things so that you can leave some in the luggage room of the car. During the road trip it is also important to keep an eye on the gas display – in the countryside the distances are greater and there are less petrol stations and shops – not to remain on the road you would rather need to refuel often.

For these two weeks I made the following schedule:
Day 1, October 20, Helsinki-Tampere
2 hrs 26 min (2016.8 km) via Route 25 or E12
accommodation: hotel booked in advance
sightseeings and noteworthy spots to be visited on the way: a printed list prepared
lunch: on the road (approximate cost XX)
dinner: in the hotel or in Tampere town (approximate cost XX)

This way I prepared information for each day (how long to drive every day, how long it will take and what we could visit. When driving alone it is wise to drive no longer than five hours daily, and sometimes it is wise to take days off to stay at the same place for many days. Even when driving just a couple hundred kilometres per day it will become boring for yourself as well as the kids. I divided the travel distance so that along the driving part we also spent time off the road in the same location for some time. Besides the distances from one town to another you would need to also consider the driving around in the settlements, and also on the road you might like to digress from time to time to side streets. As we took pictures practically on every step then we also preplanned the time for taking selfies and making posts to Instagram. The best kind of travel is one where you needn’t be stressed about the time schedule and thus is is reasonable not to overbook the days and even leave extra time for each activity.

How much does it cost to travel in Finland for two weeks?
That’s a good question. By and large the cost is built up in the following way: transport (gas), accommodation (hotel* or airbnb*), meals (breakfast in the hotel or the food you have taken along, lunch on the road, dinner in a restaurant), the sightseeings and the spare time (museum tickets, visits to tourist attractions, SPA tickets), shopping (souvenirs, clothes, etc). Shopping is often not a preplanned part of travelling, but it tends to be that it rarely happens that one travels without any shopping, especially during a vacation travel. In my travel blogs I have outlined the petrol prices, the hotel costs, the restaurants expenditures, etc. Since obviously the maximum cost may vary from traveller to traveller, then I suggest setting the minimum costs: daily food (ca 20-30 EUR per person/daily), hotel accommodation 150 EUR (two adults and one child or one adult with two children). In the restaurants the price levels are roundly the following: main course (from 20-40 EUR); salad (from 15-25 EUR), in the cafes and department store dining places the prices are better.

The three of us practically circled Finland withing these 12 days, taking stops in Levi, Rovaniemi, and Kuopio for two nights, in other destinations one night. On this image you’ll see our exact travel route. Below there are all the travel blog posts made during the journey. The blog posts, as usual, can be read in four languages (see NordenBladet.ee; NordenBladet.com; NordenBladet.se and from NordenBladet.fi the Helena-Reet blog section)!

Helena-Reet: I like to make an impact so that ‘s what I am gonna do! The spiritual growth and new hobbies

NordenBladet – I remember when at my eldest daughter’s kindergarten’s final party the teacher said to me that your daughter Estella Elisheva is talented in absolutely everything. That whatever she is going in for, she is making it a success – she is gifted in arts, music, and sports, she creates fantastic and unique paintings, she can sing, play an instrument, dance and achieve sports prizes. And that’s exactly how it is – because she is my daughter.. Hahaa..

It’s just the same with me, I cannot say if I am outright talented yet I have various hobbies. I cannot stand having just one job or one hobby all my life without doing anything else at all – this would be the nine-to-five office routine that is quite out of the question in my case. Journalism and writing has been my passion throughout the years – I am so proud of myself having been capable of building the big media such as NordenBladet with its several sub-pages and bloggers. It is great to challenge the Nordic largest and oldest media groups.

However, as time goes by my heart desires to be in the countryside more and more. Far far in the countryside – being somewhere with nature outweighing the crowd of people that live there. Luckily, nowadays it is possible to lead one’s life from home through the internet. I like to read about various herbs and all year round collect several herbs to serve healing purposes in herbal tea or to be used in our cosmetics brand E&S. I very much appreciate our clean Nordic nature!

Establishing the Elisheva & Shoshana (commonly named E and S) brand has once again been a passion and a hobby – I have created this brand together with my daughters Ivanka Shoshana and Estella Elisheva, to share our lives in doing something together. Initially this was a blog where a reflected on our activities, today besides the blog it has also grown into a brand and under this brand we produce and market handicraft cosmetics, ceramics (a lot of the work can be seen via Instagram and soon I will post works also in the blog), knitwear and now also paintings! Everything is naturally 100% our individual production. From handicraft cosmetics we currently offer products such as handicraft soaps, a selection of bathing salts, magnesium products (hair growth and scalp boosting spray, and body oil for joints) and we are soon launching follicle-stimulating shampoo series. We produce ceramics based on special orders – plates, mugs, vases, bowls, soap bases, decorative elements etc. None of the products is a repetition, we create only one of a kind products. In art the unique and the original is valued, nobody desires a copy. From knitwear I do spirited scarves and caps for kids and youths and lately I began doing paintings! All kinds of handicraft is very likeable for me as well as my daughters!

I have a wonderful home, the garden is lovely as a fairytale and the surroundings inspire me to the fullest. The kitchen is my favourite spot, and it reminds one of a true witch kitchen. Oftentimes I do feel that I am a witch, since I foresee several events. In the kitchen herbs are hanging to dry; in the middle of the kitchen there is a large log-heated stove with logs cracking; walls are covered with paintings and the many shelves are filled with works in progress, little containers and samples of E&S product design articles. The ancient wooden board floor is softly creaking under my body weight, I have a mug of glowing herbal tea, self-gathered and prepared, with honey in my hand, the cat is busily rubbing itself against and around my legs and there is a picturesque view from the window. I am alone and nobody is finding faults.. These are the moments to be embraced by!

Media, the nature, herbics and phytotherapy have accompanied me through the years, the paintings and the ceramics are on the other hand rather recent hobbies. I have set going an art collection and now also began to get more acquainted to painting. See the two first works HERE and HERE. This morning I entertained the idea that if I paint and do ceramics from now on then in 20 years time I would be known and experienced as a painter and a ceramics art designer and in 60 years time my children will own a considerable and magnificent art collection. I like to make an impact and this is what I am gonna do. There is so much energy, love and vitality in me that I wish to direct and shape in a right and positive way to alter the course of the world — NordenBladet is going to be the best known Nordic media channel that will guide people back to the countryside and the nature and that will teach how to remember the past, to preserve it and to esteem culture. And my paintings and ceramics will bring enjoyment and visual delight to many homes!

I wish that my children grew in an exciting home that is filled with creative energy and works. I want them to believe in themselves, to grow spiritually and develop artistic fine motor skills and I want them to know that we all are the ARTISTIC FOUNDERS OF OUR LIVES!

Helena-Reet: My steps as “momager” are fruitful – Estella Elisheva performs in Japan with two violin concerts! + GALLERY FROM TODAY’S PHOTOSHOOT!

NordenBladet – My 12-year-old daughter Estella Elisheva brings me joy every day and gives reason to be proud of her. She is the most determined and goal oriented girl in the world! I could go on praising her from morning till night, the praising source never runs dry. She is truly inspiring and sets a pattern that triggers others as well to be more positive, venturesome and good persons!

It is funny to say so, but my own 12-year-old daughter is one of my greatest examples in life. She is beautiful, talented, hard-working and friendly, eats healthy, lives healthy, trains, rehearses, learns languages, does homework for school, develops with her sister the personal cosmetics brand, blogs, vlogs and comes up with the world’s greatest ideas. She is gifted in music, arts and sports – everything that she does is accompanied with success and podium places. But I do see at home what commitment is behind that. In the morning two trainings for the sake of beauty, health and good looks, daily rehearsals and schoolwork, systematic care for the mind and body. That positivity and goodness that gleams from her is just infectious. For example I have changed my life to such extent that I have given up junk food and alcohol. This has been my best gift to myself in a long time!

I so like that I get along really well with my daughters. For both girls I have been the momager (mother manager) for many years now. I help Estella Elisheva and Ivanka Shoshana with social media, we travel a lot business-wise, related to my work in NordenBladet and related to the development of Elisheva & Shoshana (E&S) brand, build contacts etc.

Estella Elisheva takes part in various violin contests and I make appointments for her performances and interviews in Estonia as well as internationally. We are making an effort so that Estella Elisheva would play as best she could and would make her name known across Scandinavia as well as around the world. In order to become a world class violinist/artist it does not suffice to just play the violin well – everything has to be in place – violin play, appearance, level of languages, communication skills, media coverage, representation in social media, etc. Looking at young stars around the world, it is obvious that they own an impressive bunch of backstage support team members – managers, producers, assistants – all alone one wouldn’t get very far even with the best of talent. Also in advanced years the stars need a team – unaccompanied effort renders the artist in difficulty. The key to success is, extra to the talent, a huge back-up team, to support and assist, teach and develop, guide and promote, guarantee audio and video, translation, management, production, contracts, legal papers, psychological help and advice, praise, lift financially and mentally, negotiate performances, … Estella has for all that the teachers from her music school and me with the media and social media experience.

I am happy for every smaller and greater achievement. Every prize and every performance is a step towards a breakthrough. Estella Elisheva is such good material to design – she herself does not desire the breakthrough as much as rehearsal or the content itself. This is ideal, while like this she is without excessive stress during performance, does not push too much and doesn’t appear unnatural. Me on the side, rejoicing, I see a lot – a lot of potential in her. We are an amazing team, because she trusts me and is glad that I am happy for her. And I am very proud of her – my kind and wonderful child!!!

Today we had a photoshoot for the concerts in Japan that take place in August-September. Estella Elisheva and another music student, Estonian zither player from Saku music school have been invited to perform in Japan! How cool is that?? Such a success!! I am so happy! It is thanks to Saku music school that so many doors have opened for Estella and it makes me so glad that the teachers from the music school have augmented her love for music!

Helena-Reet: We have opened NordenBladet.fi and NordenBladet.se!! There is great interest for the NordenBladet pages and every day I am thinking – where from here? what from here?

NordenBladet – For many months I have actively been involved with the archives and documentation of NordenBladet. As of today also the portals of Ohmygossip Finland and Ohmygossip Sweden have been joined under NordenBladet! How cool is that?! NordeBladet pages are published online now already in four languages – in Estonian, in English, in Finnish and in Swedish, covering the entire Scandinavia. NordenBladet-owned OHMYGOSSIP sites can be read already in six languages – besides those that have previously been mentioned, one can also read them in Russian and in German.

NordenBladet media is the youngest yet among the largest media groups in Scandinavia / the Northern countries. While Bonnier was founded already 215 years ago, Alma Media 170 years ago, Aller Media 146 years ago, then NordenBladet is just 7 years of age (and NordenBladet-hosted OHMYGOSSIP sites are 10 years oled). During these seven years however so much has been achieved! We are active in Estonia, in Finland and in Sweden, yet we reflect news from all Northern countries. We are focused on reflecting life and news in the Nordic countries. We give our best to bring to you the most important information, prognoses, announcements. Administration of ten NordenBladet + OHMYGOSSIP websites along with their 10 Facebook and 10 Twitter pages is quite an undertaking. All in all 30 separate pages that each own a unique group of readers – millions of followers and hundred thousands daily visits. Every page needs galleries, posts, articles, blogs, fresh ideas and IT-solutions. Amazing what you can achieve when you have the certain idea and are determined to carry it out.

I remember when back in 2006 I began thinking about my own media channel. I was looking for IT-solutions, being completely green as an media owner. Though I had many years of experience as a journalist working in the television magazine Nädal and also experience of working as editor-in-chief in Buduaar, this was basically everything. It soon became very clear that the greatest challenge were IT-solutions that had to be kept running. Oftentimes the development of one line took down another line, every step cost me, on every step I depended on someone else – and this is something I cannot take. I like to depend on myself – only myself. I like when anything I do is for myself, everything I decide is my individual decision, etc. The first web site was built by several IT-specialists before it was finally set up. I made one bad decision after another and constantly I was financially set back. The first example of a bad solution was that I had my web built, instead of using WordPress environment where the entire world operates today. Every innovation had to be paid for by me and in every movement I was dependent on others. That was a very inconvenient circumstance for someone who wishes to take off but has to stay to wait for the solutions. I invested my finances endlessly to the project and the activity rather reminded a hobby than business. Yet with the years comes experience – today I build the web myself, change the code and the design myself. When I need a new solution, I complete that myself in a few days. Today I am rather good in multitasking – obviously I could be working on every level of the media business – beginning from a journalist, to the web specialist or a ads marketing specialist, including the positions in between like a photographer, translator, designer, programmer, in charge of contracts, coordinating the staff and in charge of publishing. Name it.. I have learned a lot and this is positive. Today I can already anticipate so many aspects as well as errors that have already been made and must not be repeated. It could make a full post to write about selection of topics, social media, finding the sources and working on background material.

I am also very happy about our team – it is small but efficient. Everyone who is included is doing their work with commitment and this is important. I like people who can come up with new solutions, who think beyond their narrow line of tasks, who are easy to communicate with. Since there are ten websites to run (NordenBladet.ee; NordenBladet.com; Nordenbladet.se; NordenBladet.fi; Ohmygossip.ee, Ohmygossip.com, Ohmygossip.se, Ohmygossip.fi; Ohmygossip.de ja Ohmygossip.ru) then lack of work does not occur. I am glad that I have people I can lean on and who have been there through the years. One of them is Marju Rõmmel who joined in 2015 as an intern from a Finnish school and has stayed until this day. Marju compiles fashion, beauty and relation related articles for Ohmygossip.ee website and health, home and travel related articles for NordenBladet.ee website + from last month on she is also the Managing Editor of OHMYGOSSIP Estonia (Ohmygossip.ee). Thank you  for all your wonderful ideas and for the commitment! Overall… NordenBladet has the world’s greatest team!

There is great interest for the NordenBladet pages and every day I am thinking – where from here? what from here? One big decision that I made lately was that preserving life in the countryside is vital and crucial. I definitely wish to move the offices of NordenBladet Sweden and NordenBladet Finland away from the capital city and develop the portal so that Nordic country life and countryside would be in focus. On the big trip around Finland where I was with my children in October for vacation as well as on mission I saw how much there is to do in the sphere of country life and on important part in that is for sure played by journalism. Among the near future missions of NordenBladet is to attract people from towns to the countryside, create new jobs in the countryside and be on the front on the journey towards a more healthy and nature friendly lifestyle. I wish that countryside schools were more valued, as well as local enterprises, that more effort was directed towards country regions and that the local production were valued more.

Helena-Reet: We have to praise ourselves and take time to be glad about what we have achieved

NordenBladet – I like to praise myself and I also do praise myself, even on a daily basis. I do this as alone time. I acknowledge myself for the achievements that make me happy, I feel joy about several things (my achievements, fulfillment of goals, my children’s achievements, but also just the nearby presence of animals and birds, and the aspects of a home are a source of joy for me).

I need praise and since usually nobody lauds me but my children then I am left to praise my own self. Iccccc.. Around me I find more and more things to be happy about and I must admit that by and large I have reached inner peace and joy. There is no use in lingering on to hear praise from others, it is up to ourselves to be happy and praise ourselves for the smaller and the greater achievements! This sounds much like the cover of a self help book, but I can assure you that it does have the effect of meditation. The notion “praise” itself is perhaps slightly misleading, rather the wording “value yourself and give worth to what is accomplished” suits best.

For example in the morning I greet the little birds that are abundant in our garden. They sing and chirp so loud to have me react to their existence. And I am not mean to ignore them. I went outside and talked to them, were long awaiting for them to return from the South. To welcome them, I even poured a handful of seeds around in the garden. As I love the nature then I was extra happy to find in Juhan’s garden shop eight two-meter linden tree plants that I now have already planted in my own garden a week ago (for years and years there have been no linden trees in the garden shops, so now the plants really made me glad!). I already have five large linden trees, but one can never have too many of the linden trees! Linden trees are good for the bees and they are surely a source of joy for me around the year when I drink linden tree blossom tea with honey and in gratitude think back to having the trees.

But now back to achievements. While tuning the humour volume button a bit lower then I actually believe that one has to praise oneself, has to recognize and value one’s achievements. We make plans with shorter and longer perspectives, compile various tables, do calculations, predict success and try to attain it, set goals and overcome obstacles. But what do we do once we have achieved something that still a year or two ago seemed an unattainable dream to us? we do nothing.. We already make room for new and even bolder dreams, we are already beforehand nervous and anxious about completing what we have planned to achieve, instead of taking the time to be thankful to ourselves and others and to take time to enjoy the ends we have already achieved.

I altered the tactics a while ago. I began giving worth to my own achievements, and enjoying them and celebrating them. Achievements are to be enjoyed, you must let the feeling of happiness get to you. Why not allow yourself to have some attention, some happiness, some sense of importance? It is not others that need to bring the happiness to you, happiness is rather a mental state that you must attain.

All my life I have been raised in the spirit: be modest; it is not nice to praise yourself; avoid bringing shame; first achieve something and only then let others know, etc.

I now argue for the opposite:

a) do things and be brave;
b) praise yourself (I hereby do not mean showing off), because all kinds of positivity brings along more positivity in your life and positively minded people do more and achieve more than the whining and complaining folks;
c) also the attitude that first you must do and then you can talk about it does not always hold true. You must enjoy the entire process and be proud about it, not only once you’ve attained the final target. The road to the target is also important and beautiful. Our society tells us to work hard and always worry and never be glad. However, I fid that we must find joy in living, enjoy every moment!

One great thing that I have learned is, don’t wait for others to praise you, to give their opinion, to give their approval. Be the active agent! Decide for yourself! And finally, praise yourself and take time to enjoy what you have achieved.

I am awesome! 🙂

Helena-Reet: A Course on Preparing Ointments at the School of Traditional Wisdom and Folk Healing

NordenBladet – While long ago every corner and every village had its own healer who treated people’s wounds and gout with ointments, oils and herbal elixirs and who skillfully prepared herbal tea, then today people know less and less of this craft. “Hamburgers are being eaten and a handful of medicine administered on top of that” – I’d hereby quote the hostess of Karepa Herbal Garden, Katrin Luke, whose course on preparing herbal ointments I recently completed.

My grandma from the father’s line was an expert herbalist and great nature lover – against every ailment there was cure to be found in the nature. From very early on grandma took us kids along into the forests and to the meadows and introduced to us various plants. And it wasn’t rare when friends from school came to visit and she offered us nettle soup or herbal pie and I used to be ashamed of this from head to toe. Now however I long for those days and I feel that there would be so much I still wished to ask her, but sadly it is not possible anymore.

I live in the countryside near the town and for 5-6 years I have been studying herbs with close attention as well as growing and collecting them from my garden, from the forests and from the meadows. Earlier on I have repeatedly posted blogs about gathering herbs, but the golden rule is that you should only gather the plants that you know 100%, and only from the unpolluted nature and with a big heart – never rip the plants out carelessly nor exhaust the plant completely from the selected spot. When I am about to gather herbs I ask permission from the Earth, I talk to plants and afterwards I thank the Earth for its gifts. There is nothing more pleasant than having a cup of herbal tea from plants that you have gathered yourself, or retrieving from the freezer frozen organic food stored during the summer. A great acknowledgement for me is also when people come to visit and ask for a cup of herbal mix tea. There is cure in herbal tea against a hundred ailments – mostly these being depression, common cold, sleep problems, liver problems, joint problems, yet I also have a recipe for unlucky love and against trouble with sexual function. People sometimes ask whether it actually works? And they will be convinced that it does!

Earlier I have also prepared healing tinctures and healing oils and I also use herbs and tinctures in Elisheva & Shoshana (E&S) soaps and bathing salts, yet the preparation of ointments is something I will be doing anew. I am really excited and there are so many ideas about healing recipes already ripening in my head! Preparation of salves is actually uncomplicated in itself, yet one must have a solid base in the knowledge of herbs (naturally one must not mistake the poisonous plants for medical herbs based on similar looks). Also, you must be patient – you must collect the herbs beforehand and the preparation/boiling of salves requires precision and time.

For fans of nature and herbs the School of Traditional Wisdom and Folk Healing created an interesting course named “Preparation of Healing Ointments“, a course which I completed this Sunday. The course was carried out by Katrin Luke who has studied herbal medicine (phytotherapy) in Tallinn School of Alternate Medicine and who manages Karepa Garden of Medical Herbs. It was a great course!

During the course four great products were prepared: Natural spruce resin ointment, Marsh Labrador (Rhododendron tomentosum) salve, Calendula ointment and Symphytum root (Symphytum officinale) oil. During tea breaks the participants were offered barley bread (Karask – barley bread is traditional Estonian food) with Ramsons (Allium ursinum L.) herbal butter, Filipendula syrup, Jerusalem artichoke chips, rose jam and other pleasant things.

I guess that from early on children should be taught phytotherapy and herbs. As for myself, I set the goal to introduce to my own children all the plants one by one with the opportunities of use.

Helena-Reet: 6 STEPS HOW TO get closer to success, how to enter the elite circles & how to find investors to your million-euro business plans!

NordenBladet – How to become part of the elite* class? Whether you have an idea you want to turn into a business, a startup you need funding for, a partnership you want to secure, or a dream job you’d love to have; all of these things require getting into the winner’s circle. Get to know the elite community & learn how to make important connections with influential people!

1. Stop waiting to be rescued from financial mediocrity
The average person has been brainwashed to believe rich people are fortunate or dishonest. Stop believing self-made millionaires are just lucky. Being rich has very little to do with luck and everything to do with habits. Start believing you are worth every euro you earn and more. Start first believing in yourself!

The middle class lives in a perpetual waiting game for outside forces to come to their aid and grant their every wish. They are operating at a level of consciousness that encourages them to passively wait for life to improve. The hero they are waiting for may be G-d, government, their boss, or their spouse. It’s the average person’s level of thinking that breeds this approach.

Start creating a daily plan of action that will move you closer to building financial independence. The rich are savvier about money because they follow a plan of action, not because they are more intelligent. They don’t wait for their ship to come in. They build their own ship.

2. Start thinking or start thinking more
The rich know their most valuable asset is their ability to think, and because they use their mental powers so often, they become very good at it. Build your thinking muscles by pushing yourself every day to solve new problems that are directly related to amassing wealth. Creativity is critical to financial success!

3. Utilize your network
This sounds overly obvious, but you would be surprised how much people under-utilize their own personal and professional network. Even if it is not a strong connection, just knowing the same people or person opens the door much better than having zero shared contacts. Preferably, you want someone who your target also knows who can vouch for you (ideally, more than just one reference actually). If that is not possible, use whatever first, second, or third degree contacts to help you get that introduction, not matter how small.

Whether it is an investor, executive, or other successful winner’s circle member, they are always looking to meet anyone doing something interesting. They wouldn’t be where they are if they weren’t open to new and promising opportunities.

4. Be prepared, make sure you are ready
First, make sure that this is actually the right time to make your way into the winner’s circle. If you’re not taking care of you, you’re not in a position to help anyone else and you’re not in a position to sell your ideas. Members of the millionaire’s circle could be industry leaders or high-net worth individuals – whom are respected and esteemed – and have a network that you can’t put a price on. Because of the pull and influence someone in the winner’s circle may have, it is critical you impress them. Too often, there are stories of entrepreneurs who make great impressions and have a great idea, but they used their network, resources, and energy to secure a meeting of any sorts way too early.

If your “target” thinks that there is even a small chance that you have something worthwhile, he or she will ask to meet with you. This is one major reason you need to ensure that your social media accounts come off respectable – without anything that could damage your image – and also do your best to ensure your profile most accurately reflects the impression you want to make.

5. Don’t hit up everyone at once
What happens when you text 10 girls all at once who are all friends and hanging out with each other at the time when they receive your text? If they were going to respond to you initially, they certainly wont now. Getting into the winner’s circle is the same way. Don’t contact six guys who are all friends, work at the same firm, or partners in any way. You will be embarrassed. Contact each person individually one at a time. If they decline, go on to the next one. It is always great to have multiple contacts within a circle, but you need to know how to utilize your network the right way.

6. Don’t be discouraged, just try again
Take advantage of the feedback they give you – find out why they declined and then fix it, because the next winner’s circle target you pursue will probably find the same defect. 99% of these people will be open to meeting or talking to you again in the future, so make sure not to burn ay bridges. Once you have bettered whatever it is you bring to the table, contact them again. There are a ton of cases where entrepreneurs get shut down the first time, but then after some hard work they are accepted the second time and go on to reach great success.

Remember, the wealthy focus on earning! In the minds of millionaires, leverage is everything. The wealthy strategically focus their efforts on the most profitable areas of their businesses while leveraging their contacts, credibility, and resources to maximize the results of every action they take. The middle class sees hard work as a badge of honor. The wealthy sees success as a more important badge of honor. There is no limit to ideas; therefore, there is no limit to how much money they can earn. Rich people use other people’s money as well. So never be afraid or belittle yourself.

! Rich people have an action mentality… while average people have a lottery mentality.

* In political and sociological theory, the elite (French élite, from Latin eligere) are a small group of powerful people who hold a disproportionate amount of wealth, privilege, political power, or skill in a society. Defined by the Cambridge Dictionary, the “elite” are “those people or organizations that are considered the best or most powerful compared to others of a similar type.”

Helena-Reet: My pattern – grand plans are a success, humble plans will fail + 9 GUIDELINES for your grand projects to succeed!

NordenBladet – I have noticed that the larger my ambitions, the better the luck that accompanies me in pursuing them. It is almost a pattern already – great plans are successful and smaller plans fail. Perhaps the reason for that is taking greater plans more seriously and passionately. Greater plans tend to seem so huge and unattainable at first so that it makes me feel I need to prove to myself and others that it still is possible to accomplish them.

I like challenges. I work at an augmented speed once I have a goal in front of my eyes. This is quite common for me to set such an enormous goal that most people will find it laughable. It is a pity that people will ridicule great plans and projects, belittle them and counteract them just for the sake of comfort. Of course, there is rarely an entrepreneur without a single instance of a plan going awry and failing, and oh my what extensive (malicious) joy it causes when you should fail at some point. Then you can be completely sure that there will be thorough media coverage and talk. It it quite amazing how glad it can make people to see the misfortune of others. But along the years I have grown used to that. Mostly it has been so that the more active the hindrance and the malicious joy, the more enthusiastically and innovatively I rush towards the enterprise. It is actually easier to tackle a larger issue rather than a smaller one. Why? Because subconsciously people wish to see those who accomplish something big. First they laugh, later they follow or copy.

Upon concluding some deal, have you ever asked for an amount of money so big that it is almost awkward? Have you put on the table an idea so mad that just the madness of it creates interest? I have, and just today I pondered that the big and crazy plans have mostly been accomplished while the smaller, dime-scale projects linger on and fade without reaction. I like the enterprises that most people are scared of completing. I like the plans that even scare myself a bit. Yet I like to grow in an organic way and without taking risks. I do not like living from debt. I make great plans with the finances I do not yet possess, yet I do not use the money that isn’t there yet. I do not like taking monetary risks. However, I do like to risk with fierce ideas and develop various win-win collaboration projects.

Today´s success motto! If you wish to be Great and wish to do Great things —
you need great and open minded (even little crazy) people around you!
People, who believe in the beauty of their dreams! – Helena-Reet

These are my 9 guidelines to help your grand projects succeed

– THE CRUCIAL POINT: make sure that the project that you wish to carry out is instructive and helpful-beneficial for the earth-humanity, that you would grow as a person while working on it
– Your great idea will lack weight if you do not carry it out. It is always many times more difficult to carry out the ideas that to invent them.
– Talk about your idea, advertise it (don’t worry that it could be stolen, since as I mentioned in the previous point, it is more difficult to carry out than to come up with the idea. A good idea is the one that goes hand in hand with a vision about how to carry it out.
– Don’t chicken out before the fact that you intend to build a billion euro enterprise and you lack a million euros of spare money. There is a lot of money in the world.
– Be consistent and confident. If you have faith in your project then do everything necessary to accomplish it.
– Do not rely on debt while building your enterprise. The more organic the growth of your enterprise, the more peaceful your sleep during the night and the less your plan will suffer during economic crises.
– Find allies and business partners.
– Give back to the world… it is only worth doing what is good! When the people and the society do not grow and develop, then the plan is not sustainable. Should you wish to accomplish something really big then keep in mind that big action begins with little changes. You can be the one that brings the ends of the chain together.
– Do not mind losing, don’t be scared that you could be laughed at. There is always a flock of seagulls shrieking near big boats. It can happen that once in a while a boat will sink, set your mind at peace with this. If you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

My latest big enterprise has been the creation of the brand Elisheva & Shoshana (E&S). It has been a great success and a good example that everything is possible! There is still a long way to be among the top cosmetics brands such as Estee Lauder, Olay, Lancome, Biore, Shiseido, Dove, Neutrogena etc, however a strong start has been carried into effect. Within a few months, besides the selling centres in Finland and Sweden, we have started building sales network also in Estonia. Certainly it would be easier for me to begin with this kind of enterprises than it would be for most other people, since I have several million readers on the pages of NordenBladet and OHMYGOSSIP as well as in social media – this equals to daily six-language free powerful media channel.

Elisheva & Shoshana handmade soaps and bath salts are proudly standing next to Scandinavian top brands, in February we will also launch body and scalp sprays and there is at this moment the development of shampoos, conditioners and liquid soaps already in progress! It is a luxury to be leading a feminine line of business as this is, doing good to own family as well as many people in the world. I stand for an unpolluted earth, for a healthier life! We position us in the category of luxury cosmetics (luxury care cosmetics), since our marketing argument is the quality and efficiency of the products. While my younger daughter Ivanka Shoshana is an autist and sensitive to various products and I am myself also sensitive towards several scented products, then one of our goals is to offer nature friendly care cosmetics that suits also those of us with a sensitive skin and a sensitive scalp. A majority of the raw material and herbs are grown in our own private gardens! Today I ordered 10 000 new packages! The measures and numbers are escalating so that I even need to pintch myself to believe it! Such a success! I am so grateful that I can work on the things that matter to me and constitute a challenge!

Helena-Reet: With children on a road trip around Finland (VOL 10 – in Central Finland, Kuopio) Sightseeings + Travel photos!

NordenBladet – Having had our breakfast in Kajaani (read HERE) we started off towards Kuopio. To my mind, travelling by car is pure luxury – you are not bound by time limits, the cars will carry all your belongings, you can stop wherever you please, etc. Extremely comfortable and maintains the privacy.. You need not be seated next to a stranger like on the airbus, wait in the airport check-in line, etc.

From Kajaani through Sukeva, Soinlahti, Iisalmi, Peltosalmi, Kirma, Nerkoo, Lapinlahti, Mäntylahti, Alapitkä, Pöljä, Aappola, Siilinjärvi and Sorsasalo it is 170 km vi E63 road to Kuopio (ca 2 hours driving).

With its 118 434 inhabitants Kuopio is today the ninth biggest town in Finland. The Swedish lord and governer Per Brahe the Younger founded Kuopio town in the year 1653, yet officially Kuopio was recognized as a town from November 1775 on when the Swedish king Gustav III insisted on recognizing Kuopio as a town. Almost a quarter of the territory of Kuopio is covered by water bodies and half is covered by forest – thus the overall impression is very beautiful. I really like nature! Kuopio also enjoys having a lovely old town (a nice market place, an interesting market and a historical city hall). We spent two days with children in Kuopio. I had booked Sokos Puijonsarvi for two nights, but the children wanted so much to visit the SPA (we hadn’t visited a SPA already for a while… haha) and so I cancelled one reservation and we went to Rauhalahti SPA for one night. Kids were clapping their hands from joy and we did have a very pleasant evening.

On the second day we went shopping in Kuopio city center (I bought a short coat, a jacket, two cardigans and a new travel case), we were looking around to find new business partners for the cosmetics brand Elisheva & Shoshana (currently we are negotiating with a city center boutique… so probably soon one can purchase E&S handmade cosmetics products also from Kuopio!), then I also met an old friend of mine and in the evening we took photos with Estella Elisheva in Puijonsarvi Hotel for OHMYGOSSIP Teen in Ohmygossip Couture tank tops. I hope to upload the gallery soon enough.

There are various sightseeings in Kuopio, so it will depend on what one wishes to see. The best known sightseeings are for example the 75m high Puijo Tower with its rotating restaurant that accommodates 100 guests, designed by the architect Seppo Ruotsalainen (Puijontie 135, 70300) and Kuopio Art Museum (Kuopion taidesmuseo – Kauppakatu 35, 70100). We were already rather fed up with new information and all the sightseeings, so we simply enjoyed our vacation. It would have been great to visit Joensuu that is located east from Kuopio and Ilomantsi that is quite close to the Russian border, but we kind od started missing home and thus decided not to expand our travel route any further. We had covered 3000 kilometres already! In the next around-Finland blog already new towns and new cool experiences!

Helena-Reet: With children on a road trip around Finland (VOL9 – Central Finland, Kajaani) the sightseeings + travel photos!

NordenBladet – Kajaani in Central Finland is the centre and capital city of Kainuu area. The town with 37039 inhabitants was founded in the 17th century when the industry and trade of tar produced from pine trees started to flourish. The town was founded in the year 1651 by the Swedish attorney general Per Brahe. In later days the town’s economy has been run by timber and paper industry, until the Kajaani paper factory that had been working from 1907-2008 was closed down. Kajaani has reached the headlines with the oil catastrophe, namely in 2012 there was an extensive oil pollution and 110 000 litres of oil poured into the river and drifted to Oulujärvi.

Kajaani is actually a junction for trade roads and with an interesting location, surrounded by hundreds of little lakes. For hikers, cyclists and canooers this is a pleasant spot to go in for sports. The lovely little city centre with the shops and the town hall that was built in 1831 both contribute to the coxy feeling.

We spent in Kajaani one day and one night. We were in the most expensive hotel of the neighborhood, yet the night was a nightmare. People were shouting in the hotel hallways until late at night, dogs were barking and the insect repellent that had been sprayed to the hotel wardrobes, was breathtaking. Hadn’t it been a perfectly wonderful and friendly reception-lady earlier on welcoming us and checking us in the hotel, we would probably have decided to go somewher else. We were thinking to ourselves, whether the hotel star-standards that have been awarded still hold after a few years and wheather there is someone in charge of maintaining the initial standards?! The hotel facade and the reception floor were wonderful and freshly renovated, yet the hotel rooms were as if from another era. However, the breakfast in the hotel was very-very delightful (among the best during the entire journey)! For example cold salmon – my favourite! Yummmm… For children there was a large selection of various food that they could serve in Moomin dishes. Ahh, how I like the Moomins. Such a nice and friendly family, and the entire Moomin-world image is so friendly and nice. By the way, Ivanka Shoshana affectionately calls me Muuminmamma, she herself is Snork Maiden and Estella Elisheva is Little My – this is our game. A few years ago we visited the Moomin world in Naantali and the surroundings of Turku – Väsk island, the Finnish president’s summer residence in Kultaranta, etc. I posted many blogs about that (see HERE) 🙂

But what then is there to do in Kajaani? When you search online for Kajaani sightseeings then the list is rather short. The more interesting tourist magnets-sightseeings that have been brought out are Kajaani town hall, Kajaani and Paltaniemi church, the ruins of Kajaani stronghold (Linnankatu 27, Kajaani 87100), Kajaani art museum (Linnankatu 14, 87100), and Kajaani town theatre (Kauppakatu 14, 87100 Kajaani), the Pietari Brahen monument and Hoyrylaiva Kouta (address: Kalkkisillantie 4, Kajaani 87200), the ship that takes tours on Oulujärvi. Urho Kekkonen who during the years 1956-1982 was the Finnish president, was born in Lepikko farm Pielavesi village where at the age of 11 he moved to Kajaani. In the kajaani park that is located between Koivukoskenkatu and Kirkkokatu a monument has been erected in his honour. In the same park (on the address Väinämöisenkatu 18, 87100 Kajaani) there is also the “Isänmaan puolesta” memorial.

Having driven through all of western Finland and northern Finland this way and that way, one could say that central Finland and western Finland have a very different wealth standard and architecture. As it often is, the western side tends to be wealthier and the eastern side less well off. Many little towns in Finland have in a way frozen, the re is little of the Scandinavian welfare and wealth really in those places – like for example Puolanka and Pudasjärvi that have been described in the previous travel post (see HERE) and quite many other central and eastern towns in Finland, too. Also, it is rather strongly felt in Kajaani that the town would not suffer at all from a nice financial boost. In order to attract tourists in the town and keep the interested, I guess it would be necessary to promote the town far more. Certainly there are a lot more pearls in that region to be discovered. Overall, I am super overwhelmed about our road trip and I am already planning new jpurneys. It is possible to see so many places! At some point I would like to see the eastern side of Finland (Nurme surroundings, Joensuu region, Ilomantsi region, etc). Finland is a safe country and it is convenient to travel by car there. The next blog post will take us to Kuopio!
